Don't just make assumptions. When they sell to in the market place they'll guarantee a certain number of hours. 60,000 / 80,000 etc. If they guarantee 80,000+ the TV would be fine.

That thing must have a short life span if its only 3 mm thick, the parts are extremely fragile and will most likely die within a couple years, by then the full screen models will come out and you will be forced to buy that...just what they want you to do...

I don't know about 10 years (I know you said 5-10), but I agree with your sentiments. That Sony is 2.5K. It's worth pointing out that OLED is actually "cheaper" to manufacture.

OLED tv's are the future but it will take 5-10 years before they become mainstream to public like LCD and plasma. the 11 inch OLED is 3k. thats more than a Samsung 46 inch high quality LCD.

The technology is still young. Remember that Solid State Drives used to be literally $1000 for 250GB, now they're roughly $500. By 2010, these will be consumer price and I'll have one for a PC monitor. =D

The problem with LED's is they generally are expensive. It's undestandable that these TV's will have such high price tags. Thinner isn't always better unfortunately as it makes the object more fragile to impacts or knocks.
