The mental health consequences of combat threaten to overwhelm a new generation of veterans. There are 1.7 million men and women who have served, or are currently serving, in Iraq and Afghanistan. About 1 in 5 Iraq and Afghanistan veterans are suffering from a mental health injury, ranging from depression to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as a result of their service. Less than 1% of the U.S. population has served or is serving in the current conflicts and when they return home, their sense of isolation is often magnified. This campaigns long-term objective is to decrease the depression and PTSD-related outcomes among returning Vets by taking a two-pronged approach encouraging Veterans to join other Veterans at the first ever online community exclusive to OIF/OEF Vets, and separately, to empower their Friends and Family by helping them learn how to start constructive conversations. The challenges facing returning vets are myriad but with support from other Veterans, family, and friends the issues can be effectively dealt with.

I want to first say that I respect your opinion but i completely disagree with your analogy, and that this probably isnt the place for this argument, and im sorry for that, but it needs to be said. Yes, i can support and love my fellow americans, and therefore disagree with a war that was mismanaged, mishandled, and fed to us with misinformation. But of course, our troops fight and die, bravely at the command of the commander in chief, who i think is a cronie. Whats wrong with that??

When I saw this, I thought the point was going to be, "He fought in the war, killed some people, and people were killed on his side too. Now, after the war is over, he is the only one left in the world. But hey, he's the last one standing...which means his side won!!! He is proud of the work he has done and that he never gave up fighting for the on the side of 'good'."

As an Iraq War Marine veteran, I never understood people who act as they support veterans but then go on and badmouth the the War and the President for their own mediorce political motives. Its like saying, I support the football team but I hate the coach and anytime they play against another team.
