i agree with you but i htink since she only finds one fish i think the fish was her since she'd slept with so many poeple she has so many fish, she seemed pretty happy to get her fish back...

The way I see it, the water within the tanks represents a person's life. The fish represent people they have slept with. When the wife added a fish, the husband emptied all of the water out of his tank, killing himself. The wife saw this, and, remembering all of the times they had spent together, she emptied her water out of her tank. They were brought back to the ocean, the source of all water. This brought them their life, and now they were free to spend eternity together.
