Preceded by two WJZ-TV program promos, one featuring Oprah Winfrey (who worked at the station at the time), and a sermonette. An old beat-up print of a U.S. Navy National Anthem clip follows the sign-off announcement.Visit my new web site: tv-signoffs.com

Where is the one sign off where the guy says "and touch the face of a God."

Not many could rock the Jewfro like Richard Sher back in the day.

Three guesses (the first two don't count).

I used to watch it up till the bitter end. Then, after all the Baltimore stations went off the air, I could start picking up Channel 10 and 3 in Philly, and Channel 12 in Richmond. For some reason this was mostly on Sunday nights.

Dear signoffsguy,I really love your work. I have a bunch of your videos recorded onto an audio cassette and I love to play them in my car. Keep up the good work, buddy. I especially enjoyed your Nick at Nite feed from New Year's day in 1990. Man,I remember when it originally aired. All the great shows back then. Now Nick is just another channel. TV was so much better back in the 80s. I'm only 30,but I might as well be 100. The only channel I watch regularly is TV Land. Thanks. Bye.

Well,I'm not from Baltimore, but I am a child of the 80s. I remember sign-offs,and I love them. It hearkens back to a simpler time in TV history. One that is sorely missed by folks like you and me in this day of 24/7 TV and infomercials. In fact,I actually have this clip recorded onto an audio cassette and play it every now & again. Yeah,I miss the sign-offs with the national anthem. We don't need infomercials. I'm 30 years old and everything now sucks. I hearken for an earlier time. Thank you.
