"the tkd guy made some basic ground fighting mistakes." ya think?!
MISTofDAN (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Well the guy should have used more dead weight so he does not get slamed down on the surface like that.
realfighter1977 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
thats funny! dude was writhing in pain! whew!
yannbo8 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
the TKD guy made some basic ground fighting mistakes. For example he didn't get the mma guy in closed guard when he was taken down n had a chance, which enabled the mma guy to get to the side n slam him like that.

is that was the mma guy destroyed the TKD guy... either your being sarcastic or your stupid.

what I meant by conditioning is, being able to take a hit. For example like this fight, in many MMA fights, I seen several fighters hit with similar slamming moves like what this guy did, but unlike this fight, those fights keep going. I noticed that many MA guys that support MA respond to videos like this by saying "I would have done so-and-so before he takes me down" It seems like these people think with their MA training, they can win a fight without taking a strong hit, which is a mistake.

Not really true, martial arts has always had other supportive conditioning. Hitting heavy bags and working a speed bag is about all you can do to develop effective punching power. Lifting won't do it, its about explosive speed that you only get from actually punching and kicking. I'm not a big fedor fan, but he is one of the best and he is not cut like a brick shit house at all. But his technique from years of Russian fight training is dominating the sport

Honestly though, that TKD guy needs to go through more physical conditioning. One of the main reasons MMA fighters always win is because they condition their bodies more then MA guys. MA guys just work on kicking higher, or faster or some other techniques, but it all fails when the techniques you worked so hard on don't have a great effect on your opponent.
