HAHAHA The SameTime client app is approx. 700 mb to install. Jeezez! It takes FOREVER to load on ANY computer. As usual IBM is unable to do ANYTHING lightweight. Still SameTime works ok when you are get it open.....but then it's time to go home :)

We have been working with Sametime since its inception. The features shown in the video are relatively smooth to implement. We did run into some bumps implementing the Sametime Gateway. Some of the issues where related to Lotus and some were related to Google. This is a great tool to spark instant collaboration in your enterprise. If you have Sametime already think about upgrading to 8. The eclipse framework gives your admins the ability to push plug-ins and future upgrades.

IBM, Sun, HP = Hardware companies.Microsoft, Oracle, SAP = Software companies.Each is a Services company, though Microsoft has a smaller Services component.Here's a idea for you ... if you want great software, consider doing business with a software company. If you want great hardware, consider doing business with a hardware company. IBM is simply trying to keep pace with other players, primarily Oracle and Microsoft. Nothing new, innovative here at all.
