Adaptation within 'kinds' has been acceptable for a very long time and is perfectly reasonable within Christian theology. However, extrapolating and supporting the concept of macro evolution from micro evolution is unacceptable from a creationist POV."Has science buried God" is a must read for everybody on the thread.

I can't find your message Jetboy222 - regarding hellfire ...If you run a Google search for "The Origin and History of the Doctrine of Endless Punishment" by Thomas B Thayer - all points are covered within that body of work.Cheers.

No, no one can be a free thinking and believe in the suipernatural. To assume there's a god is not free-thinking. Free thinkers ask questions, and that does not lead to an assumption of god. There's no reasoning or evidence to suggest there is a god.

watuwant, doesn't it bother you at all that your entire system of morality is based upon the existence of God? I mean, atheists have found reasons to be good people without the threat of hell or the bribe of heaven. Countries that are composed of mostly atheists (like Sweden or Japan) actually have drastically lower crime rates than the more-religious USA. In other words, why are christians morally superior, when all of their good actions are done with a reward and a punishment in mind?

I believe the laws in the bible are not because gods mean it's like ours parents rules because he cares. Like if you have sex before marriage he dosent want you to do that because your prone to disease or be heartbroken. When we die and we followed these rules we will be eternally happy and thank him for the rules he gave us. I think atheist just want to do what the want.its strange that every different country they all believe in god in some way!

people can be free thinkers and christians. God has no problem with us asking questions. he gave us a brain and wants us to use it. however (and atheists can deny this) if you're asking questions genuinely, you have to be ready to not like the answers. whatcha gonna do when you ask that DO lead you to God? you say there is an element of chance in everything? there is a chance you might come face to face with the God of the Universe. the good thing about this is you'll enjoy it

this video states that praying is doing nothing and still thinking you're helping. 1. if i wanted to do nothing i'ld do nothing 2. praying is doing nothing if you think God isn't real. you're talking to the wall 3.you're correct in sayihng prayer is laziness if it's all you do. the bible says that if you ask God to help a certain situation or person, but do nothing for them, nothing has been accomplished. both faiht AND action are important

we are not born with a belief in a god, we have to be indoctrined. so in wanting to please their parents, children are duped at an early age, right after they figure out santa is really wal-mart.

for the guy who said christians can get away with anything they want: WRONG yes salvation is based on faith because at our best we can't messure up to the glory of God, but that doesn't mean we can abandon reason and live like hell. Christ said if you love me you will follow my commandments and the bible goes on to say that faith without doing the right thing is DEAD faith or faithlessness. those touched by God will try their best to live rightously.
