sorry 4 the txt speak. ran out of room. all i mean is that indie films are self-produced so they create the product they want. I just saw Synecdoche, New York. It took Kaufman 6 yrs to make. He took his time making it what he wanted it 2 be. And it was wonderful. The only American film makers i give props to is David Lynch. He is consistently great, though maybe pretentious at times. And Spike Jonze. Michel Gondry, Chris Nolan, Jean-Pierre Jeneaut (he did Amelie) & others are all from overseas.

well look @ Saw. Ppl are willing 2 pay money to see shit they saw 4 other times. Have u seen the movie Idiocracy? Its a scathing satire on our own pathetic existence. in the future, the most popular movie is called Ass. For 2 hrs its just a close up of an annoymous ass farting (Ass is, not Idiocracy). Even The Dark Knight was a foreign produced movie. thats why it did so well. It was about talented people making a quality product. Not a quick buck. The only good american movies R the indie films

Mostly yes and a little no..."Sex Drive" and "Dude Where's My Car?" are teeny-bopper movies, (which I haven't seen either one.) so the companies can make profit of the 16 thru say immature 30 age group. However these movies don't get any major awards other than the Teen Choice Award. And even the Oscars do nominate good movies, directors, etc. But I still have no idea how Steven Speilberg gets billions of awards for his 6-hour over-acted,over-dressed,over-everything movie crap. You are 100%→

I do have an ipod but I paid 2K for my CD collection a few years ago and I'm not about to let that investment go to waste.I'll switch gradually.Making money is very important but I don't know if people should be as greedy as they are. It's cultural. Most Western Europeans I know(not the East, they're still backwards) view Americans as impatient fat idiots for the most part. And sadly by-and-large I think they are correct.

yeah, and unfortunately im surrounded by these people and they make me sick to my stomach. these people who are so focused on money, they are willing to stab their best friend in the throat and sell their dreams just to be on top. i live a very minimalistic lifestyle (dont own an ipod) because i dont need that. i only take what i need and im happy. fortunately most of my friends are the same way. but i work with selfish, greedy douchebags and i cant stand them

i know what you mean, though i wouldnt call it random. its disjointed in its continuity, but theres a narrative arc. its not beauty vs ugly. its perfecection vs. normalcy. pefection/beauty are boring. notice none of them are smiling. they arent happy. neither is the guy, but they need to keep contrasting, chizzling down the edges back and forth until we reach the point at the end where the message is clear. long before this came out, i already agreed with this mentality anyway,so it works for me

Damn good pt. I have found that in Europe people care more for the way of life rather than for shear profit. In America too often I have found people chase money for money's sake - and forget to enjoy life in the process. It's so sad.

It's not the most bizarre video I have seen. As in bizarre images. Mirwais "Disco Science" is up there and there are hoards of others. But it is very surrealistic and weird in that it's so random. It's like a dream or something. You know what I mean?
4jonah (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
also, if this was the strangest vid youve seen, i feel sorry for you. there is a WORLD of mindfucks outthere. Look at my profile, i have some of my favorites in there. Esp "Try Telling That To My Baby" by The Heavy Blinkers.

thats actually a misnomer. you are correct BUT America has no respect or artistic talent and freedom. They are more profit driven, hence the cesspool of garbage like Sex Drive and Dude Wheres My Car. French (really, the rest of the world too) filmmakers respect the artist and let them create their vision with bigger budgets, so what comes off as "avante garde" is really the same things american filmmakers want to do. American studios just dont tolerate creativity.
