He is using the basdrum (foot pedals) its prety high tuned thats why its sounding like he's using the sticks

At the very beginning you mean ? (first seconds of the clip).Those are the bass drums.

He's using his pedals on the kick drums in the very beginning. You can tell since the pitch is much lower than his snare drum. If you're listening through low quality computer speakers you might not be able to tell the difference.
