are you people crazy??working in TV is a doddle. This video is the exact opposite of what happened to me.Yes i was at university, but thats where the similarity ended.I made a well recieved documentary, yes - But it was about my balls and how one was slightly bigger than the other.I now work for Endemol.Hell Yeah!! I'm better than all of you!!!seriously

I have to say there are lots of people going to university, sleeping in until 1pm every day, who go to their 4 media studies lectures a week and when they have the cheek to ask what you do, if it doesn't involve being in TV, they look at you like you've a retard. As if they know something I don't. Well I'm sorry, not everyone can write for Heat, a lot of people have to be administrators for gear pump manufacturers or receptionists for law firms. Time to see the real world.

But that's the thing, he's isn't in tv, he's ON tv. He's 'The Talent'. He hasn't had to spend years groveling at the heels of TV execs, he just has to look/sound good on camera.Well, that and write hilariously funny shit.

I've just finished my first year working in TV, and everything up until this point has been exactly like the film. Career change methinks.x

Or more likely teaching GCSE English to a bunch of spotty illiterate fuckfaces.

This is great - you couldn't improve on this if you tried. In response to fishheadedfish below, no it's not the same for writers because you usually end up working at home when you're not at the offices of various TV production companies. Other than that, the details are pretty much identical. As Charlie himself has said elsewhere, if you can get your stuff on the internet or somewhere else where you have creative control and it might take off, for God's sake do that instead.

Yep, my first job was as a floor runner after my GCSE's. I was 15. So there! I guess there weren't so many child labour regulations back then! x
