yeah Yo Yo Ma is great and all... but for this piece and some other pieces he improvises a lot. i think Rostropovitch was one of the (if the) best cello players in the world... and i aspire to be a great cellist like him... if he hadnt died on Saturday, April 28, 2007 i would have liked to have met him

If you watch him, you can tell he's struggling with the music, counting exactly... Yo-Yo ma and Rostropovich could eat this guy for lunch!

Yo Yo Ma is a great cillist, but he sucks compared to Jaqueline du Pre and Rostropovich

He's surely fantastic, but I still thinl Yo-Yo Mao is better than him.

I had never heard of this guy! I love finding new performers worth listening to. What a find.

Wow, simply amazing. There's so much emotion in this piece the way he plays it.I always turn up the sound really loud when I listen to this to try to block out all other noises and hear every single note.Just wonderful!
