I'll be honest, I really hate when people bring babies or small children on planes, that's why I rather take a road trip.Because once the child screams/cries I loose it, because of my sensitive hearing, and if I had to deal with it for like 2 hours, I'd kill myself or wind up in the crazy house

Electrical gadgets, ah? Mom battery ran out!!! Mom, where's the outlet? Convenient?, temporary! Conversate with your kids, books to read, & yes thank you; healthy snacks! Just make sure on your hand carry has individual extra clothes for everyone in case of missing baggages. Great ideas!

i guess im not an "it" mom so much. none of my four kids even have an ipod or laptop. i make them play with whats now concieved as a "stupid" toy like just books and pen and paper and journals "i spy" type games. funny how my kids still love me the same and appreciate things even though they dont have all that "newfangled technology". btw-im not uncool or old. im only 30 and really about the coolest mom in town!

Not to sound like an old fart (I'm nineteen) but I used to go on very long car trips (Olympia, WA to Moncton, NB) and some long plane trips (Detroit, MI to Honolulu, HI) without most of that electronic junk. I had an old sony tape player, but never an ipod or laptop. Hell, I got my first laptop when I went to college last year. Mostly books and drawing and looking out the window and playing cards and singing kept my brother and I occupied. Why travel if it's all the same electronic distractions?
