you make a good point mike118117 but remember that the romans never took over scotland or irland and large parts of wales. and from the early 5th century AD when the saxons "migrated" to england they tolaly reformed englands culture and separated the british isles in to two different cultues the anglo-saxons and the celts. The indigenous British people (celts) referred to these invaders as Saeson witch is still used today in the Welsh word for 'English' people.

You have to remember that in what we know as the British Isles in pre Roman times were populated by various tribes. In England at the time of the Roman invasion some of those tribes became fully integrated with the Romans and some Britons became very prosperous and built their own villas. Devon and Cornwall retain some celtic DNA. But all areas of these islands were overun by invaders up to 1066. The Orcadians have a lot of Viking DNA as do the NE of England.

actualy mike118117 your not entiarly right as most of the the celts in england moved north in to northen parts of england and scotland and west in to wales when the Angles, Saxons, and Jutes tribes invaded the south and east of Great Britain thats why it is easyer to find celt DNA in wales and scotland and irland than it is in england
