I'm pretty sure that if you did an internet search for "Police lyrics", then you'd get some joy.For a long time, I couldn't make out these lines:Mother chants a litany of boredom and frustration, but we know all her suicides are fake.Secretaries pout and preen like cheap tarts in a red light street, but all he ever thinks to do is watch.Another working day has endedOnly the rush hour hell to faceBack like lemmings into shiny metal boxesContestants in a suicidal race.

Sting and Billy Idol twins separated at Birth!Just kidding. I LOVE this video, love this band. I'll always remember blasting the album Ghost in the Machine walking around my Jr. High with my ghetto blaster on my shoulder.

I am going to see The Police tribute band, Invisible Sun on Friday, Dec. 5. They are playing at Frank Cariola's Sundance in Rocky Point,NY. Thats 60 mile drive from Manhattan (90 mns). The Pretenders/ Cars tribute band , Talk Of The Town are also playing that same night. Bring back all the great music. I love The Police.

I like this song, because it reminds me of working an unchallenging job. We despise what we do, but continue in the muck and drudge. However, "many miles away" there is something sinister and free. It's daydreaming. A doctor will dope your kid and call that behaviour ADD today. To me, now, it's a personal description from a genius breadwinner of a typical nuclear familiy, who's vicariously being a beast in his head.Of course, when I was a kid, I liked the slime and monster allusions:D |
