yeah animal rights in this part of the world are non exhistant even though they are hindus mostly. when I was in banglore you could pay to have your picture taken with a heavily sedated tiger, with his teeth filed down to a point where you could see the root!. the agony it must of been in, i lost alot of nights sleep over that.

I also think they took it's fangs out and de-venomed it. So in essence, the snake would only be pecking at the baby's head XD That or it knew the baby was relatively harmless and only pecked at it anyway.
