Amazing job she does.. She brings it right out to you....my other favorite is what a wonderful life. Such a shame that she is gone. A friend of mine brought her to me and she is amazing....

you stupid fuckers. listen to the supreme spirit that is here.

That's open to speculation, but the type of issues I'm speaking about are things like the Vatican sending Catholic missionaries into sub-Saharan Africa to preach the sinfulness of condom use in an area where nearly 4 million people die from AIDS annually and where the only information available to the locals in regard to STD prevention and contraception comes the Catholic ministry.Stem-cell research being impeded at the federal level because of this belief in souls at conception, etc.

Hmm. If it is that which you're worried about, I must once again say that I think it is not religion in particular you have a problem with. I reckon the most dangerous of all at the moment simply has to be the Democratic Dogma of the American Dream, no?
Trumpetz81 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
What I'm speaking of is most definitely religion. Religion is political sure, but I never argued against a belief a higher power(although choosing to believe in something like this when no evidence exists to corroborate it is a bit foolish insofar as I can ascertain).Nonetheless, if somebody chooses to abandon science for the comfort of a deistic belief, that's fine by me provided he or she does so from outside the confines of dogma. Otherwise, it's a danger to myself and everyone else.
Trumpetz81 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
What you seem to be forgetting is that the primary difference between an agnostic or atheistic worldview and a metaphysical one is that only the latter makes absolute claims to certainty and knowing things it couldn't possibly know.If somebody chooses to abandon reason for comforting ideas, what does that really say of their character? Shouldn't the truth, or an honest effort to seek it, take precedence over false consolation?
Revvels (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I agree with you on that :) But please remember, this is not necessarily religion you're talking about. It's general politics. Surely religion is used as a medium to spread corruption, but so is the idea of 'rights'. Made up by men to protect some and control others. Yet alot of people find comfort in these things and one should not discredit them on that. One should never advocate his worldview to be better than another's, as rationally, this cannot be proven.
Trumpetz81 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I never said a higher power doesn't exist either. My opposition to religion is not to the idea of a god but to dogma. If you have the slightest clue as to what's going on, you'll recognize without contention that the dogmatic beliefs of a number of faiths are hurting the world.Fighting over some imagined promised land, the ideas of jihad and martyrdom featuring so prominently in Islam, Christianity's obsession with virginity and with repressing the rights of women. The list goes on and on.
Trumpetz81 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Actually, I completed my one philosophy requirement long ago. I'm not contributing anything new to the debate for the simple fact that it's all been said. That doesn't mean people don't need to hear it. So I'm bringing it up on youtube, big deal. Where's the problem? Never once did I make any claim to being more intelligent or educated than anyone here. Baseless assumptions are baseless. Also, while insulting my intelligence, please don't slaughter the language we both speak.
