That's pretty much how the Oceania (or at least London) of 1984 was envisioned in the 1955 movie starring Edmond O'Brien. Everything was sterile, white, antiseptic. The art direction in the newer film was intended to be as Orwell himself might have imagined it, complete with the dilapidated apartments, shoddy consumer goods and late-1940s technology (round TV screens, dial phones, pneumatic tubes, etc.).

That was SPAM! it's mind boggeling how one novel could influence a civilization as much as 1984 did.If you see, I mean really see the war 4 terror, for what it is, the mind control is even more intence. but that I guess, is because this is reality, and that was a book, a very scary one, but at least I could put it down and think about something else.

I'm pretty sure in the novel it states that she has short,dark brown hair and freckles. Meets the description perfect. They also said she was not very attractive, either.
