if you really look at it this system is from yoga and tai chi he just trademarked it but this knowledge was already known for thousands of years in Asia. the concious movements with grace will enhance mental emotional states. I don't understand how someone can credit themselves for having created something that already existed. but hey that's the logic of our world today.

Feldenkrais does not have poses like in yoga, but movements. It is lower impact, focusing on the mental more than the physical. They are similar in many ways, and both are beneficial. I enjoy both yoga and Feldenkrais; I prefer Feldenkrais when I want something easier.

I loved Feldenkrais so much I produced a dvd series so I could do it at home too! It's at Amazon or ebay and it's called Comfort Zone, Feeling Younger Workout: Improving Posture and Relaxing Shoulders,Relieving Tension in the Neck and Spine, and Releasing the Lower Back.

This is an excellent representation of the magic of this Method. If you have not experienced Feldenkrais work and you are interested in taking responsibility for your own healing, find a practitioner or a class near you, and try it for at least three sessions. You'll be amazed, I guarantee it.

I went to one of these classes and it was really interesting. It was like re-teaching the body how to move. |
