Its not that big of a deal, but bullets are more likely to ricochet when shot into water. I only say anything because its an avoidable risk. If you watch the video from fenderman171 titled 25 tracer rounds you can see that a percentage of the rounds ricochet and fly off into the distance. Now imagine shooting at water instead of dirt. When you skip a stone off of dirt vs. water which goes farther faster? I have shot at water myself so I cant say too much.
