It's hard to tell in the video, but the magnets are about 6" away from the monitor.If you place supermagnets against the screen, the color change will persist, but there are several ways to "degauss" the iron screen inside the CRT.The real danger is in magnetizing the steel frame. If you place supermagnets directly on the edge of the CRT, Or sit them on the monitor case, you can cause color-warps which can never be degaussed.
