Is that the chick that is in charge of Analytics? Google and Privacy are mutually exclusive.

I feel violated. Google cant identify me but a sapena to my internet provider will reveal my IP address history. THen a sapena to google will reveal everything I searched for for the last 18 months. Thanks google.

But Google did note that it had begun to use across its network the "DoubleClick ad-serving cookie," a computer code that allows the tracking of Web surfing. Were can users could opt out of a single cookie for both DoubleClick and the Google content network.

I think it's understandable for them to keep your IP address only for the amount of time it takes to get the result and send it back.. They should not be keeping log files of your IP with what searches you made, and when. That information is none of their real business. Maybe they can have live updates to a special database that stores what you searched for right as you search it, but they don't need to know who did that search, just what was searched for, and maybe the date.
