If most/all people just in the U.S. did this, there would be enough food that could be provided for other countries suffering famine/poverty.

I usre hope youplan on documenting the bale house project when you start! I will be your biggest fan! :)Seriously, it'll be a great video thing for Youtube. I would love to see that. Let me know when you start, ok?

Also, on the Canadian border of Minnesota, you can preserve like crazy all year, so though you might not be getting arugula, you can have bottled string beans. :) (I'm hoping to build a strawbale house with a greenhouse against the south wall.)

Absolutely great video and a great idea behind it. It's far easier though to do that in the southern climates than up by the Canadian Border of Minnesota, BUT it can be done on a lesser scale here. And people who feel they can't go full tilt should at least grow SOMETHING. Every little bit helps. Also, it's so satisfying to pick a tomato or lettuce and eat it knowing you grew it and it is clean and healthy.

I would do the same but my 2000 gallon underground collection tank has been capped and SEALED by the "authorities". I was told that I would be ARRESTED if I was caught using rainwater. This is all the ongoing plot of rich investors to keep us on the "grid". I intend to get rid of any "lines" entering my property: electric, gas, telephone, water or cables...anything that connects me with greedy middlemen who SCHEME for a living.I have already cut my "bills" by over 80%.

This is absolutely wonderful! Just the other day I was thinking, "why do we need lawns?" They're not nearly as beautiful as the gardens we see here in the video. Communal gardens are great social activities as well. Thank you!
