I saw him perform at the Royal Festival Hall a couple of years ago, and he had such a warm, charming personality. It was wonderful just to listen to him talk, never mind the playing!

This is from first movement of the piece "Carmen Fantasy" composed by violin virtuoso by Pablo De Sarasate.If it sounds familiar, that is because it is a fantasy based on the very famous opera "Carmen", by Georges(s.p.?) Bizet.Perlman's own performance of this piece, is not only the best I have ever heard, it is also one of my very favorite performances of Perlman himself.

@7thS: I believe the two students are Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg and Cho-Liang Lin.I think this is the film that inspired me to teach. :)
