there is a strong magnetic field between the 2 pieces of metal and any slight difference in it, such as you hand, will make a noise and every time you move your hand, the pitch of the noise will change. they look extremely hard to play.

Yeah, if you want some piece of shit theremin. They aren't cheap instruments if you want one that can actually be used for something like this. You can get cheap ones and built-it-yourself ones to have fun with though :P
