The original Wallstreet did have an L2 cache, except for the lowend model which also had an inferior display.

WallStreet. I wasn't too pleased in 1998 when they introduced this. They introduced this after they showed the iMac, and I was like:"No USB? You said we'd leave that old crap behind!"

It's so surreal watching Steve slag Intel like this, on a MacBook with an Intel processor in it. If only we knew what was going to happen. And furthermore, I'd like to know what sort of crack Apple was smoking when they decided to ship a G3 machine without an L2 cache. No wonder why they called it the "MainStreet".
