wow thanks for the upload...great clip.Of course Buddy Rich is amazing but Ed Shaughnessy was a great, great drummer also...crazy how the Late Night Shows got some incredibly talented drummers like Shaughnessy and one of my all time favs Anton Fig on Letterman.

im a seasoned drummer and i do understand that there are phenomonal drummers out there. But it takes a special drummer to understand that buddy was just a bit of a step ahead of everyone else past and present, irregardless of your musical preference. There are many many quotes from some of the most famous drummers today who state him as one of a kind

Yeah I agree Drummerofchicago, Buddy Rich was the best in his time, but he was also the worst personality wise. In his band it was considered an honor to not be fired by him in your first practice session

Buddy could be a prick! my cousin played in vegas and Buddy was making a comments about another drummer. my cousin idolized Buddy. until the negative comment nobody was better than him he was a legend in his own mind but he was great drummer but a smartass loved him any way

Two different eras cant compare! thats like compare Travis and JoJo Mayer or Tommy Lang or John Bonham or Simon Phillips all awsome yet very different styles its all different and if you are a seasoned drummer you will understand this just different levels dont need to get upset its about music which i think most folks love in there life it would be boring if everyone sounded the same Go to DRUMMERWORLD Com listen to all of them you would go insane trying to compare all of em

no he's not he plays about average speed you didn't answer my question about dynamics and don't look it up travis sucks horribly all punk drummers do except for tommy and marky ramone because they had amazing endurance you know so little about drumming do you even play drums?
