You can see him smile in the very video you commented on :) Check near the end when the song is wrapping up, when he turns backwards to look towards the drummer.. when he refaces his mic, he has a little smile.

The Go Go's Belinda, Charlotte and Jane are credited with backing vocals on the Specials second album on 2 Tone, MORE SPECIALS from 1980. I too love both versions.

The debut album of Fun Boy Three is a lost treasure in the sense that not many people listen to it today. Seek it out and listen to the whole album -- it's terrific.
