I know what you're saying. I was in Europe from 82-85. They went nuts over most of this fag music. I came back to the states and it was like 1/2 the male population had decided to dress like queers. I stuck with AD/DC and the other head banger bands. I didn't give in to this crap.

Buster Poindexter was in The New York Dolls - an influential band to this day.You can easily trace todays bands back to The Ramones, and from there to the New York Dolls and other bands from NY in the mid 70's.You might as well call The Clash one-hit wonders if you're going to ignore influence and cult followings and only focus on the charts.

Are you in the US? I listened to KROQ of the 80's in Los Angeles and alot of these so called One Hit Wonders were played on KROQ with more than one hit song. I am not going by The Billboard Charts.

look at the description. One hit wonders in the US pop charts not UK. and they peaked at 4 and nine respectively, not stellarnumbers even for uk standards
