"_So according to you, you can make claims about what god does, but when others do, you tell them to 'be thankful' their claim isn't true without any evidence.Perhaps you should be thankful god doesn't intervene.

"... to discredit the Bible."_The bible didn't start out with any credibility to begin with....No known authors, contradicts history, contradicts science, contradicts itself....written by man, revised by man, voted on by a show of hands popular vote of which gospels to keep, revised several more times, mistranslated and revised again.....Have you ever cited the bible for a history or science report?Has Jesus ever been a reference for a job?

So encourage all to ask the question, Is it true? Truth matters. Go and judge it based on the same criteria as we would judge any ancient documents of the same age. You will see that there is plenty of evidence that it is true and it has only changed slightly in miniscule (not changing the message) ways over thousands of years. Check out Lee Strobel's Case for Christ Book or video. He was a rabid atheist and investigative reporter who set out to discredit the Bible. Like many, he was converted.

That's why the Bible says we were dead in our sin's and trespasses. BUT GOD! So we had no intention of seeking him. We are content to hate him. To shake our fist at him. I was, and then he breathed new life into me. I went from thinking Christians were weak minded idiots and the Bible was a moldy old book that was completely irrelevant, to seeing it as a book that was true and completely relevant. That it describes man's problem perfectly no matter the time period. Amazing!

So if God exists, and he makes the rules and the punishments, and he declares the punishment for disobedience is death. Then the question is, why is anyone left alive? The Bible says, so that He may make his Glory known, He may demonstrate His Grace and Mercy. There are things in the Bible that are offensive. But thats because I am not a Holy God who will not tolerate sin. I am a sinner who enjoys sinning, and is offended by God's authority. My depraved nature abhors the things of God.

Also forgot the to mention that the views in the Bible was written for a very different people than us. So take that into account. And this is being written by imperfect beings.BTW if you think im a bible-thumping nut job, i havent attended church in years.

You make a common error in your statement "innocent people". If the Bible is true and God declares right and wrong. Then those people broke God's laws. They are not innocent. The Bible is clear that ALL have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. Remember most everyone will admit to not being perfect. Although that is usually not humility but takes the pressure off their bad behavior. So God determines right and wrong and what the punishment is. The Bible declares"The wages of sin is death |
