Apparently when Glenn Gould was younger and still learning to play the piano his mother told him to sing what he was playing(or thereabouts - the story is sketchy in my mind). Anyway he never forgot what his mother taught him and kept doing it during his professional career.Unfortunately people called it a disorder, which is just sad (especially for such a pianist).

Just look at way he is enjoying what he is doing.......God's given talent he was!!! I would give up my normal and plain way of being for just a minuscule part of his talent, that some people attribute to a disorder.

Well it's possible he might have had something called asperger's syndrome. Normal society often refers to this as a 'disorder' but it really reflects upon our society which wants to label things as a problem if they don't follow the path of social normalness. Asperger's could be labelled a difference that can lead to amazingly unique results!However, nothing interesting or amazing is ever created by normal society!
