hmmm... are you judging sketchup based on this video? there's quite a lot more depth to it than meets the eye - looks like even organic modelling is possible with the right plugins and ruby scripts etc. it's not autocad but who would want to study that?

Simple geometric figures is the exact purpose of the software. Ever check Google Earth lately and wonder how quickly actual 3d buildings are showing up? They let the community do it's dirty work for free just by making the tools free. Pretty smart.

zomg. I now not only hate sketchup, but smustard and smayo are off the menu!!!! Great for buildings and scenery, not so great when you're trying to create complex part geometries.

i do not think that tutorials are not necesary, the title says what its about and architectural building is only foundout by te user and his/her ideas. i build a scene with battle star gallatica fighting over atlantica with my ship. it has yet to be done but it will be amazing
